For some scans, especially those of the abdomen or those using contrast, fasting for a few hours may be required. Our staff will give exact instructions when you book.
CT uses a small dose of radiation and is considered safe when medically needed. Please tell us if you are pregnant or have any allergies or kidney problems.
The scan itself usually takes only a few minutes, though preparation and paperwork may add some time.
A referral from your doctor is normally required so the scan can be planned correctly. Emergency scans are done immediately as advised by the treating doctor.
