Dr. Niteesh Shanbhag completed his MBBS from VIMS, Bellary, and MD in General Medicine from Darbhanga Medical College, Bihar, and holds a Fellowship of the IMA College of General Practitioners (FCGP). With 20 years of experience after MD, he is the proprietor of 24×7 Hi-Tech Life Line, Kumta, a 40-bedded multispeciality hospital, and has served as faculty at SDM Medical College, Dharwad, Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangalore, and KaIMS, Karwar. His key interests are cardio-diabetic and critical care.

He has served as Assistant Professor at SDM Medical College, Dharwad, Honorary Assistant Professor at Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangalore, and Honorary Associate Professor at KaIMS, Karwar. A former President of IMA Kumta, he has published research on lipid disorders and hypertension, and envisions a free palliative care unit for terminally ill cancer patients in the district.
